#166 A Butterfly's Vagina

Not much to say about this RVCA shirt other than I wore it on St. Patty's day because it was green. I do remember that I wore a green shirt the day before and felt silly for wearing green two days in a row (LIKE A SAVAGE).

This St. Patty's I spent my evening with the Nelson's at Disneyland. It was patriarch Jeff XVII Nelson's birthday and so they decided to celebrate there. I met up with them after work that day. The Nelson's are awesome. I sometimes feel like I see them almost as much I see my own parents. Heck, I'd be one if Jaime ever nutted up and just married me already (kidding). But I always enjoy seeing them, they've always been super cool. We went on Big Thunder Mountain and watched Fantasmic from a really nice spot. Mr. Nelson mentioned to a friendly, giant, flamboyant cast member that he had never seen Fantasmic before and a little bit before the show start he led us to this roped off area next to the big control booth. It was a lovely evening.

Oh, and the design on the shirt looks like a butterfly's vagina. Whaaaat?! That's right, I ruined that moment of genuine sentiment with potty talk. It's the Allison way. It's probably because of my personal insecurity with naked sentiment and emotional intimacy, son! I'm doing it right now, even. Word.

...perhaps I should lie down.

#161 Anteater Band #1

This is the first shirt that Brandon designed to be sold for the Anteater Band. Nice, simple, awesome.

#152 Pour One Out for Biggie

Biggie was right. - Threadless T-shirts, Nude No More

This Threadless design is inspired by the posthumously released 'Mo Money 'Mo Problems from the Notorious B.I.G. featuring Puff Daddy and Mace.

I love Biggie. All of his singles were ridiculously catchy. One More Chance, Big Poppa, Hypnotize, these were all stellar hip hop songs. Not too many people in the hip hop game right now have as much of my adoration as Biggie does. His songs are just fun and good to groove to and not terribly angry or filthy.

#141 Don't stand so close to me. Don't. Stop it.

In 2008 for my birthday, Elaine Murphy (aka the best friend ever) surprised me with tickets to see The Police in concert at the Hollywood Bowl. The Hollywood Bowl is just an awesome venue in general, the stars, the hills, the acoustics, just gorgeous. I've only been there twice. The other time was when I went and saw Holst's Planets suite performed by the LA Philharmonic. It was about as magical as you can imagine. The only sad part was that Pluto was still a planet at the time so it ended with a non-Holst piece for Pluto.

#129 Get to da Choppa!

Yeah I don't know what I'm doing with my hands either. Anywho this is a shirt that I actually can't really remember where or when I got it. It's got a neat pattern on it and I own the gray sweatshirt version of this pattern. Not much to say about this shirt. Uh, it's a nice color.

Today wasn't terribly notable. Well, it might be kind of notable in that I got Dylan to walk into, shop at, and actually buy something from Forever 21. Slowly minions. Slowly but surely I will get you all to be at least slightly fashionable.

You're welcome.

#124 Dinosaur!

This is a shirt that I got on my trip to Florida for my cousin's wedding. I spent one day on my own running through all of the parks at Disneyworld. I basically made a list of all of the attractions that I had to see and for the most part stuck to it. Because I was alone I was also able to take good advantage of the many single rider lines that they've got set up. I still need to make another trip out there at some point because there are so many things I still haven't seen. I also apparently went at just the right time of year since I was able to be in Epcot during their food and wine festival which was a cornucopia of delicious international cuisine.

Anywho, this is a kids shirt that I got from the store attached to their Dinosaur! ride (based on their CGI movie, Dinosaur). Dinosaur! is basically the same as the Indiana Jones ride at Disneyland except with dinosaurs. So it's basically super duper ridiculously rad. The only way to make it better would be to mash the two rides together so that Indy is squaring off against carnivorous dinosaurs (let's work on this, Science). The best part is that during the point where the big dinosaur chasing you pops out and roars in your face, they take a photo. I didn't know this was going to happen so my face during that part is quite priceless. It's the face of someone that's getting their face rocked off by awesomeness. I totally should've bought it.

#123 Draw 32?! FUCKBALLSANDCOCK!!!

The official game of the Lambda Alpha Chapter of Kappa Kappa Psi is Combat Uno. I'm not sure how common the game is outside of our district and the people that the Porter family have drawn into their web of Uno card madness. Kelly Porter is a giant, bird-loving lumberjack who forever changed the course of Lambda Alpha history by teaching us the game that has just completely taken over all fraternity events.

The normal way you play Uno is basically Crazy 8s. For the uninitiated, Combat Uno moves much faster. You can play out of turn, you only have to draw one card if you don't have the right color or number, and you can stack draw cards. It's fast and insane and loud. It reminds me of the Russian roulette scene in Deer Hunter, that's how intense it can get. I imagine that some people probably have war flashbacks about certain Combat Uno games.

#107 & 108 I either need to get better looking or stop taking pictures of myself.

You may be thinking, "Did Allison just post the same exact shirt twice? That's cheating! I shall report thee to the high council of blogging elders! I demand satisfaction!" But hold your horses there, anachronistic internet so-and-so. They are in fact two different shirts. The first one is black and it's the free Eater Nation shirt that they gave out to all UCI fans in '08. The second is actually Navy Blue (clearly the next thing my blog needs, other than a better blogger, is a key grip) and is the fancy Anteater Band version of the Eater Nation shirt. I guess they allowed clubs to get their own colors and logos on variations of the Eater Nation shirt that year, which is actually pretty cool.

I figured since I missed the blog yesterday I might as well just double post today. Plus what more am I really going to be able to say about the same shirt in a different color. Uh, this one reflects light at a different wavelength than the other.

I don't really wear the shirt out much. Partly because I feel like if you're not familiar with the fact that UCI's mascot is the Anteater and that it shorts to Eaters it just looks like I'm a competitive eating enthusiast (aka a fatty. Though fatties are more like, "I'm going to compete with myself to see how much I can eat of...everything." They're more embroiled in a battle against early onset diabetes. fat jokes!).

#106 Peanuts and Crackerjack

I was born and raised in San Diego. My parents still live in the same house that I grew up in which also completed construction within the same month that I was born. Specifically I grew up in Mira Mesa which is a suburb or township of some sort. There's a large Filipino community there, possibly because there was a U.S. Navy base next door (it's now a Marine Corps base). There's also pretty much just one major street in Mira Mesa (maybe one and a half).

My dad's a big sports guy. He's pretty much your typical dude. He also has had a Magnum P.I. style mustache my entire life. I saw a picture of him once when he was clean-shaven during his Navy days and it freaked me out. His teams are the Lakers, Padres, and the Chargers; so growing up they were my teams too. The shirt I'm wearing today is in the old school Padres color scheme. The shirt curled a bit by the D so now it kind of looks like SB (thanks a lot, boobs). It was just something I snatched up on clearance at Old Navy.

While I still would love to see the Padres do well, I don't really follow baseball or any sports regularly for that matter. Plus baseball's pretty boring on TV. Football's about the only sport I really enjoy watching, but I don't really have a favorite team (the Chargers I guess?). Baseball-wise I also have a bit of a soft spot for the Tampa Bay Rays because they were super fun to watch during the world series in '08. Plus I kind of like being the only person outside of Tampa to even give half a fuck about the Rays. If Old Navy had a Tampa shirt in Rays colors I totally would get one of those too. Unfortunately that wouldn't have made any financial sense at all. Plus no one even knows what the Rays colors are so it would just look like a touristy shirt from Tampa.

Needs More Zippers

I wish I had time to be funny, but I don't. Let's pretend I said something clever and call it a day.

Who me?

Yes you are - Threadless T-shirts, Nude No More

In continuing the Halloween thread of this week's shirts, this is a monster shirt that I got from Threadless. In it, a big furry creature has managed to set fire to an unsuspecting metropolis. His defense? "i am not a monster!!" The millions of dollars in property damage says otherwise, good sir. I imagine a police commissioner in a helicopter just outside of the scope of the shirt rolling his eyes as if to say "seriously, dude?" and then aiming a bazooka at him.

The Revenge of the Bieber Cut

This is a shirt that I got from Target a little while back. I used to be pretty into Marvel comics when I was a kid. The X-Men and Spiderman cartoons were some of my favorites on Saturday mornings. Anywho the reason why I went for the thumbs up is just because if I didn't, half of Wolverine's and the Incredible Hulk's faces would be cut off due to the fact that I have boobs and this shirt was made for boobless nerds (who apparently also have wide necks and very short torsos because when I raise my arms my midriff shows).

New Vocabulary Words and a Mystery...

Time to learn a new vocabulary word kids! This shirt is an example of a trompe l'oeil. It's kind of like a fancy french way of saying optical illusion but it's specifically one in which a two dimensional image is made to look realistic or three dimensional. Hence the screen printed image of sunglasses on my v-neck is meant to look like a real pair of sunglasses hanging there. Good times.

Anywho, this is a shirt from the Vans store that was on sale so I snagged it up while I was shopping for shoes. I'm wearing it today as sort of part of a costume because my friend Katy is having a favorite celebrity themed dress up birthday party (Happy Birthday Katy!). Feel free to guess who I might be dressed as. If I remember I'll post a picture tomorrow of the complete thing.

Nerd Alert

This shirt is one that I got when I was shopping for gifts for my twin lil' bros for their second degree. So we each own one. I actually got it without knowing there was anything on the back, which kind of makes me like it less, but it's still pretty cool. It's apparently a Revenge of the Nerds shirt which explains why it says "BOOGER" (one of the character's names) but not why it says 69 (other than the obvious cultural connotations of that number).

Other notable times I've worn this shirt is under my nerd costume that I put together for camp. There are pictures online which are pretty epic. I own a surprising amount of nerdy clothing (short sleeve dress shirt, red bowtie, propeller cap). The only things I had to buy for my costume were dinosaur suspenders.

And I wonder why the ladies aren't all over this?

And he's watching us all with the eeeeeeeeye....

No exciting stories here people. It was $5 Old Navy so I snatched it up. It fits nicely and it's a neutral color so I probably have worn it a lot. It's good for days when I don't care about what shirt I have on. It's one of my "meh" shirts I guess for meh days. My shirt is probably a pretty good indicator of my mood. If I'm in a nice threadless tee that means I'm hoping to go out and have a fun and special day. If I'm in a meh shirt that I got for cheap then the nicest place I plan on going to that day is probably Target.

P.S. In other shirt news, Threadless has some sort of 30 hour $9 shirt sale going on today.

P.P.S. If you end up buying something from Threadless, do me a favor and use this link http://www.threadless.com?streetteam=allisonrocks to get there since having a profile means I get credit for referrals. It's pretty cool.
