This is the first shirt that Brandon designed to be sold for the Anteater Band. Nice, simple, awesome.

#154 Alphabet Zoo

Another one from Threadless. This is one of the first ones that I ever ordered from them. It might even be from the first order that I ever made from them. It's the alphabet with an animal for each letter. I'm not sure what the X fish is, but the rest is pretty clear.

It being presidents day I kind of wish I had saved my Abe Lincoln fighting three bears shirt for today. I really need more shirts featuring ex-presidents doing epic things for these sorts of occasions. #146 Aww, Huggy Hugs

This is another one from Threadless and can be found directly here. If the squanchy text is hard to read, it says "a hug is my favorite adhesive", a phrase that I just find relentlessly adorable.

Soy más macho de ti

I can't actually remember when or where I got this shirt. I know it wasn't from a concert, but that's as far as I've gotten. My best guess is that I got it from Hot Topic on clearance back in the day. It's got to be pretty old because it features the original Taking Back Sunday lineup and the lead singer has his hair cut short.

Anywho the reason for the sad, doughy tough guy pose is that underneath the band name it says "Quien es mas macho?" Judging by the amount of products in my hair and that poor attempt at flexing the answer is most decidedly not Allison.

Is this like a gay thing?

This is a shirt that either Emiko or Gillian gave me their freshman year that they got from their dorm. I was pretty jealous of their housing shirts since they were all in different colors. All I got was this lame white shirt with a weird half globe logo that said "It's all about ME (standing for Middle Earth)". So because I said I liked it one of them gave theirs to me (or stole one or had an extra). I don't really know why their slogan was "got pride?" but by the fact that they used the word pride and had shirts in a rainbow of colors I can only assume that it's some sort of gay thing. So I'm all for it.

My Humps

Today's shirt is one of my favorite Kappa Kappa Psi (National Honorary Band Society) shirts. It's a play on the song "My Humps" by the Black Eyed Peas, hence the camel. The back of the shirt says "We don't want no drama. No no drama. No no no no drama," which is a line from the song.

Um. I Don't Even Know.

This was a shirt that I got from UCI after performing at their new student convocation, aka an event that they hold at 9am of welcome week I think merely to trick freshmen out of bed. It's one of the most useless things I've ever attended. Anywho it may be hard to see but in front of the random words is the school mascot Peter the Anteater posing with a bunch of kids in Batman masks. I never found out the reason for the Batman masks. It doesn't mention anything on the shirt, there wasn't a Batman-like theme to anything from the associated student body, it's just there. The one from the next year is pretty ridiculous too. I might end up wearing that one tomorrow, we'll see.

Chestburster

This lovely image of a tiny knight ripping through my torso is a souvenir from my friend Kelly's birthday trip to Medieval Times a few years ago. I knew I wanted to get a shirt, but the cool ones were all in the kids sizes so I got this one. This might be the first kids xl that I ever got. That was also the first and only time that I've been to Medieval Times. It was pretty ridiculous, but it was pretty fun and the food was surprisingly decent (definitely better than the food at the Pirate Dinner Adventure). I ended up wearing this shirt to the party at Kelly's house after Medieval Times so there are some ridiculous ones of with my drunk face playing with her cat Beaker (this was when he could fit into my hat and not like now where he can't even fit in my lap).

Is it weird that I just happen to have a knight's helmet and a sword lying around? Not if you're me I guess. The helmet is from my trip to Las Vegas with my best friends from high school that I took in '07. It's definitely a kids size too, but it was 5 bucks from Excalibur (which was where we were staying) and I was drunk enough to think that was a good idea. The sword is just from my Roman gladiator costume from the Davis trip two years ago.

Milk and Cookies, BFF

This is one of the first shirts I got from Threadless. From the first order I ever made I think. It's just super adorable. I think I got it whenever their first 10 dollar sale was when after I heard about the site from Elaine.

Um no terribly interesting stories about this shirt. I do remember wearing it one of the first times I went ice skating though so there's probably a good photo out there of me in this shirt, flailing around on the ice.

More Nerdiness

Today's shirt is more traditionally nerdy as it features a few members of the Justice League of America. The JLA is like the DC Comics dream team. Curiously this shirt is missing Batman and Wonder Woman who are two of the more prominent members of the JLA. Seriously, Aquaman gets to be on the shirt, but Batman can't? Batman needs a better publicist.

Get It: I got it from Target a while ago and I haven't seen them in the stores in a while. I'd imagine you might be able to find something similar at a more price gougey retailer like Urban Outfitters or Hot Topic these days though.

Check Please.

Today's shirt doesn't have much of a cool story behind it. It was pretty cool looking and on clearance at Old Navy so I snatched it up. Though earlier I was wearing my crazy 80s shades and crazy 80s boardshorts at Raging Waters so perhaps I was inspired to wear this shirt since it feels very retro surf culture to me. I don't quite remember when I got it and I'm sure it's out of print, but in case you wanted to look at what Old Navy's got to offer you can check them out at http://oldnavy.gap.com/.

But yeah earlier today I went to Raging Waters for the first time. I'd only ever been to a water park once before and I didn't really do anything terribly big and scary when I was there (I was probably 12). Jaime really wanted to go so we did. I kind of have a fear of heights, drowning, and the dark so it was fun(?) that some of the slides hit all three of those fears at once. But I totally had fun even if it was completely terrifying.

This is maybe my favorite shirt. I'm wearing it in honor of the fact that I'm going to go see Scott Pilgrim vs. The World, a movie that probably does more video game fan service than the Mortal Kombat movie (and certainly more than Street Fighter: Legend of Chun Li).

They take submissions from artists and for the most part the designs chosen are based on user votes (there are also some artist exclusives). Whether a shirt gets re-printed or not is based purely on demand. They take complete designs and they also take ideas for text based tees like the one I've featured in my blog today. They often have various design contests running and pretty decent sales occasionally. Definitely worth checking out. This shirt in particular can be found here.

Ninja Panda Pirate Octopus Battle Go!

This shirt was a gift from my other very best friend, Brandon. Perhaps the theme for these next few shirts will be gifts from best friends. It's from Shirt Woot a site that features "a new [shirt] every day at midnight Central time, sold cheap." Cheap in this case is 10 dollars with free shipping the day it's first sold, then it's like 5 dollars for shipping and handling for as long as they sell it (which is based on demand). I think it's pretty darn reasonable for a good shirt. Shirt Woot is part of the woot family of sites that follow the same model just with different products. It's a pretty fantastic site with lots of really great designs. They're also all printed on American Apparel tees so they're nice and soft.

Anywhoozle, I'm pretty sure Brandon got me this shirt because he is aware of my love for pirates, ninjas, and cute animals. This shirt just happens to have them all fighting too. One appears to be eating some noodles while slicing off a tentacle. He's my favorite.
