#143 Sad Lemon

This is another shirt from the goats webcomic store. It's just kind of random. I mean, why's the lemon so emo?

#139 Trailer Trash

It's too bad I already used up my Modest Mouse music post otherwise I'd feel obligated to also link their song Trailer Trash to this post.

This is a shirt that I got at one of the tourist trap-y shops that they have at Belmont Park in San Diego. I got a red one as well but for the life of me I can't remember what was on it and I haven't seen it for several years. All I know is that it was in this same sort of retro 5os style. Bowling perhaps.

Belmont Park is a boardwalk-y area complete with rickety wooden roller coaster and carnival rides. It's one of my favorite places in San Diego. This particular trip might have been for one of my birthdays but I'm not sure. If it was that was the day we had giant slices of pizza followed by giant ice cream cones followed by about 7 rides on the roller coaster. ALL GOOD DECISIONS. This is also the place where the indoor waterpark had an outdoor surf machine/wave fountain thing. My friend Kyle (who is built like a spider monkey) tried it one day and pretty much immediately crashed each time, each fall more spectacular than the last (most likely due to his previously mentioned spider monkey proportions).

If you were to stroll along the shore in the evening, you're likely to trip on boogie boards and sand toys that had been purchased earlier at the souvenir shops. I used to have quite the collection of abandoned shovels that I picked up on trips there.

#135 Spot the Irony

I got this shirt Tuesday night at the weekly Cookie Whiskey. I can't remember if I've mentioned them before, but Cookie Whiskeys are a standing Tuesday night party held at Dexter, Ohannes, and Cameron's apartment. These are usually themed and this week's was Ohannes themed in honor of his recent birthday. Ohannes is the awkward fellow depicted on my shirt. If it's hard to read the text due to the fancy-times font it says "NO FAT CHICKS". Definitely the shirt to wear if ever you decide to sit in on a Women's Studies class. Cameron had a bunch of these printed up and at one point people pulled off their top layer of clothing to reveal that they were wearing these shirts underneath. It was awesome.

The party was pretty rad. They turned off the lights and just had a blacklight going for a while. There was also a discoball-kinda light going until Drunk Trevor knocked it over and broke it. Oh Drunk Trevor. Who knows what sorts of mischief you'll get yourself into? There was also a swordfight, dancing, Jaws, and an abandoned game of king's cup. There was almost too much party at that party. Almost.

#129 Get to da Choppa!

Yeah I don't know what I'm doing with my hands either. Anywho this is a shirt that I actually can't really remember where or when I got it. It's got a neat pattern on it and I own the gray sweatshirt version of this pattern. Not much to say about this shirt. Uh, it's a nice color.

Today wasn't terribly notable. Well, it might be kind of notable in that I got Dylan to walk into, shop at, and actually buy something from Forever 21. Slowly minions. Slowly but surely I will get you all to be at least slightly fashionable.

You're welcome.

#118 Showdown

I pretty much just wore this shirt on the behalf of one Mr. Dexter Stevens. Dexter is a lanky, dorky, white guy (much like our 16th president) who loves him some bearrrs. Upon seeing this shirt, he immediately let out a manly squeal of delight and embraced me.

Is this like a gay thing?

This is a shirt that either Emiko or Gillian gave me their freshman year that they got from their dorm. I was pretty jealous of their housing shirts since they were all in different colors. All I got was this lame white shirt with a weird half globe logo that said "It's all about ME (standing for Middle Earth)". So because I said I liked it one of them gave theirs to me (or stole one or had an extra). I don't really know why their slogan was "got pride?" but by the fact that they used the word pride and had shirts in a rainbow of colors I can only assume that it's some sort of gay thing. So I'm all for it.

I guess this UCI shirt might be weirder.

This is the shirt that they produced the year after the shirt with Peter and the Batkids. I only know this because it features one of the Batkids riding on the back of a giant anteater. The shirts definitely got less weird after those two years. This shirt was actually only supposed to be for new students only. The reason I have it is because I think Tanya nabbed it for me because this was how they tracked who could get free food at the club fair, so we ended up just taking turns wearing it till we all got lunch.

Um. I Don't Even Know.

This was a shirt that I got from UCI after performing at their new student convocation, aka an event that they hold at 9am of welcome week I think merely to trick freshmen out of bed. It's one of the most useless things I've ever attended. Anywho it may be hard to see but in front of the random words is the school mascot Peter the Anteater posing with a bunch of kids in Batman masks. I never found out the reason for the Batman masks. It doesn't mention anything on the shirt, there wasn't a Batman-like theme to anything from the associated student body, it's just there. The one from the next year is pretty ridiculous too. I might end up wearing that one tomorrow, we'll see.

Nessie and Waffles

This shirt is another one that I got as part of a grab bag set of tees. The most memorable time that I wore this shirt was during the roadtrip I took with Bstark. I was wearing it when we went to dinner at a Waffle House somewhere in the south and one of the servers said she thought it was cool. That or it was the pregnant woman that walked in to see one of the cooks that and said she was in labor and I couldn't tell if she was joking. It was a) the south and b) she was SUPER pregnant. I don't even know how she'd be able to drive herself there. Then one of the female servers was like "watch out, this girl's having my baby". That was a weird Waffle House experience. It didn't help that it was pretty late when we were there. But yeah, the lesson learned is that one should just stick to Cracker Barrel when deciding where to stop for food.

Yak!

This is a shirt that I got a while back from Noisebot.com. They used to have this grab bag deal where you told them your size and the amount of shirts you wanted and it would be 2 bucks. They still have the deal now I guess. It's just jumped up to being 6 dollars a shirt now. http://www.noisebot.com/grab_bag_t-shirt.htm This is mainly to get rid of their overstocked and discontinued shirts. Hence them not actually carrying the yak shirt anymore. There's also a high likelihood that I might have gotten it as a grab bag from The Cotton Factory.com because they also have a grab bag and it's been so long that I can't remember which site it was (their random tees are 7 bucks).
